Apple Inc. is reportedly working on a major upgrade for its Wallet app in iOS 27 that could allow users to create and personalize their own digital passes directly on iPhones. The upcoming feature, known as “Create a Pass,” is expected to make it easier to manage tickets, memberships, gift cards, and other QR-based entries in one place.

The feature is aimed at situations where businesses provide QR codes but do not officially support Apple Wallet integration. Users may soon be able to scan QR codes using the iPhone camera or manually create passes and save them directly inside the Wallet app.

According to reports, the feature will likely be available through the “+” button already used for adding cards and passes. Apple is also expected to introduce customization options such as different styles, colors, images, and editable text fields to offer a more personalized user experience.

The company is reportedly testing 3 pass templates — Standard, Membership, and Event — each designed with different color themes for easier identification. The feature could support event tickets, gym memberships, loyalty cards, and several other digital credentials.

The update is being viewed as a significant step forward for Apple Wallet, which currently relies heavily on third-party developers for pass integration. The new capability could improve convenience for users handling unsupported QR-based services and digital entries.

Apple is expected to officially introduce iOS 27 during its WWDC 2026 event in June, with a wider rollout anticipated later this year.
