Expanding beyond its traditional e-commerce operations, Amazon has opened its global logistics network to businesses of all sizes with the launch of Amazon Supply Chain Services.
The new offering enables companies to access Amazon’s end-to-end logistics capabilities, including freight, distribution, fulfillment, and parcel delivery. With this move, Amazon positions itself in direct competition with established players like UPS and FedEx.
The service is designed to support a wide range of industries such as healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, and retail. It extends infrastructure that was previously used primarily by third-party sellers on Amazon’s platform to a broader business audience.
“Amazon is bringing the infrastructure, intelligence, and scale of its supply chain services—proven over decades—to businesses everywhere, much like Amazon Web Services did for cloud computing,” said Peter Larsen.
With this launch, Amazon is creating a new growth avenue within its e-commerce division, leveraging its logistics expertise as a standalone service offering.
Several major companies, including Procter & Gamble, 3M, Lands’ End, and American Eagle Outfitters, have already signed up for the service.
