ADNIC expands global footprint with new reinsurance branch approval in India’s GIFT City

Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company has received regulatory approval to establish a reinsurance branch at GIFT City, strengthening its international footprint and expanding its presence in India.

The licence, effective April 1, allows ADNIC to undertake reinsurance operations from India’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Gujarat. The move builds on the company’s existing cross-border reinsurance activities in India and follows its recent expansion into Saudi Arabia.

ADNIC said the new branch will help diversify revenue streams and enhance service capabilities across high-growth markets. It also supports broader economic engagement between the UAE and India, as both countries continue to deepen trade and investment ties.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, ADNIC operates across multiple regions, with offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. The India branch will further extend its global network.

Charalampos Mylonas said the approval marks an important step in the company’s international growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to serving clients and partners in India.

GIFT City has emerged as a key hub for offshore financial services, including reinsurance, attracting several global insurers and reinsurers under India’s IFSC framework.
