In a move aimed at strengthening digital payment access, state-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with Kiwi, a leading credit card on UPI platform, to bring credit-enabled UPI payments to its 180 million customers.
Under this collaboration, the bank will introduce the PNB Kiwi Credit Card on the RuPay network, according to an official statement.
The card will feature fully digital onboarding and seamless integration with UPI. It will also offer cashback on all online transactions, ranging from 0.5% to 1.5%, ensuring a smooth and convenient credit experience for users.
Speaking on the development, PNB Executive Director Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra said, “India is witnessing a rapid shift towards digital payments, led by the growth of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). With over 10,000 branches—60% in semi-urban and rural regions—we are well positioned to extend formal credit to underserved segments.
As RuPay credit cards gain momentum, the partnership with Kiwi marks a key step in enhancing financial flexibility and supporting everyday spending needs,” he added.
