The Redmi Note 17 5G starts at Rs. 27,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The 8GB + 128GB version costs Rs. 30,999. Buyers can get an instant Rs. 3,000 discount using SBI, Axis Bank and Kotak credit cards.

The phone will go on sale from August 12 through Amazon and the Xiaomi online store. It comes in Arctic Blue, Dark Night and Starlight Purple.

Redmi Note 17 5G specifications

The dual-SIM smartphone runs HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. Xiaomi promises 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.

It features a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,396 pixels) TrueColour AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling, 960Hz PWM DC dimming, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and HydroTouch 2.0 for better touch response with wet or damp fingers.

The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process. It offers 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable by up to 2TB using a microSD card. A vapour chamber and 10,416 sq mm graphite heat dissipation area manage thermals. The phone also carries an IP65 rating.

For cameras, it gets a dual rear setup led by a 50-megapixel f/1.8 primary sensor with up to 2x digital zoom and an LED flash, alongside an unspecified secondary camera. An 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera handles selfies and video calls and supports up to 1080p/30fps recording.

The 8,000mAh battery supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. Xiaomi claims around 2.5 days of battery life, with up to 28.29 hours of YouTube video playback, 24.14 hours of WhatsApp use, 10.58 hours of Google Maps navigation and 13.89 hours of BGMI gaming.

The handset measures 169.7 x 79.14 x 8.4mm and weighs around 225g.
