In his new role, Jani will lead Gallagher Re’s operations in India, oversee strategic growth initiatives, strengthen client and market relationships, and enhance the company’s capabilities across the reinsurance sector. He will also work closely with insurers, reinsurers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to support the evolving risk management and capital requirements of the Indian market.
Jani brings nearly 30 years of experience spanning reinsurance, insurance broking, risk transfer solutions, portfolio structuring, and international market development. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for developing long-term client relationships, driving business growth, and delivering innovative reinsurance solutions across India, the Middle East, Africa, and global markets.
Prior to joining Gallagher Re, he served as Managing Director at Howden Insurance Brokers Limited DIFC Branch in Dubai, where he played a key role in expanding client relationships, strengthening market engagement, and supporting business growth initiatives across the region.
Earlier, he was CEO – MENA, India and Indian Subcontinent at Ed., where he led business operations across multiple markets for more than 5 years. During his tenure, he focused on market expansion, client development, and reinsurance solutions while strengthening the company’s regional presence.
Before that, Jani served as President – Reinsurance at ARPL, where he led portfolio structuring and international risk placements while managing reinsurance portfolio solutions across India and the Indian subcontinent.
His previous leadership experience also includes roles as President at Willis Insurance Brokers, Director – BMS India and Consultant to BMS UK, and Head – Reinsurance at ICICI Lombard, where he managed treaty and facultative reinsurance operations.
Jani began his reinsurance career with the J.B. BODA Group, overseeing reinsurance operations focused on African markets and building a strong foundation in international risk management.
Over the years, he has developed expertise in reinsurance strategy, capital optimization, risk transfer, portfolio management, treaty and facultative placements, stakeholder engagement, and market development.
His appointment reflects Gallagher Re’s commitment to strengthening its presence in India and supporting clients with innovative reinsurance solutions in an increasingly dynamic risk environment.
