Google has promoted Vidhyashankar Balasubramanian to Senior Director, Product / Business Strategy and Operations, expanding his leadership responsibilities across key strategic functions supporting AI, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and emerging technologies within Alphabet.
In his new role, Vidhyashankar will lead business strategy, operations, strategic planning, partner engagement, business development, and innovation initiatives that support some of Google’s fastest-growing AI and infrastructure businesses.
Before this elevation, Vidhyashankar served as Director of Business/Product Strategy, Planning, Analytics, and Operations at Google, where he played a significant role in shaping business strategy and operational excellence across multiple technology areas.
Prior to joining Google, Vidhyashankar spent nearly a decade at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advancing through several leadership positions including Partner, Principal, Project Leader, and Consultant. During his tenure, he advised global enterprises on AI adoption, digital transformation, growth strategy, and large-scale business transformation initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Vidhyashankar held product and engineering leadership roles at Intel and began his professional journey at Infosys, where he managed global technology engagements and business-critical projects.
The appointment reflects Google’s continued focus on strengthening leadership across AI, cloud infrastructure, and next-generation technology businesses as demand for advanced digital and AI-driven solutions continues to accelerate.
