Vivo X500 lineup tipped to bring major display and chipset changes

Fresh leaks around the upcoming Vivo X500 series have surfaced online, revealing possible display sizes and chipset upgrades for the next-generation flagship lineup. The new series is expected to include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max models.

According to a tipster on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, the standard Vivo X500 could feature a larger 6.59-inch display. Meanwhile, the X500 Pro is tipped to arrive with a more compact 6.31-inch screen. The high-end X500 Pro Max may launch with a bigger 6.85-inch display.

The leak also suggests that Vivo may completely skip the 6.78-inch screen size used in the current X300 Pro. For comparison, the X300 Pro currently offers a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the standard X300 comes with a 6.31-inch AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate.

If the leak turns out to be accurate, the Vivo X500 will be larger than its predecessor, while the X500 Pro could become more compact compared to the current Pro variant.

Reports also indicate that the Vivo X500 could run on the unreleased MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chipset. The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are expected to feature the rumoured MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro processor.

This would mark another major change in the lineup, as the current Vivo X300 and X300 Pro both use the same 3nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

Vivo has not officially confirmed the X500 series yet, and the launch is still expected to be a few months away.
