Sanjay Bhargava takes charge as CEO of Jindal India Power to lead next phase of expansion

As CEO, Bhargava will oversee business growth, operational excellence, power generation strategy and long-term expansion initiatives, as the company strengthens its position in the thermal power segment.

Before joining Jindal India Power Ltd., he served as Chief O&M – Services at Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited, where he led operations and maintenance functions, improving plant performance and operational capabilities.

Prior to this, Bhargava spent over 6 years with PPGCL – Tata Power, where he led Power Sales, Commercial, Regulatory and Advocacy functions. His role involved shaping commercial strategy, managing regulatory affairs and driving market-facing initiatives across the power sector.

Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Tata Power, including Head – Asset Management & Business Development (Thermal) and Head – Maintenance Planning & Boiler at Maithon Power Limited, a joint venture between Tata Power and DVC. In these roles, he built strong expertise in thermal asset management, plant maintenance, business development and operational leadership.

With decades of experience across power generation, thermal energy operations, maintenance, commercial strategy and regulatory leadership, Bhargava brings deep industry expertise to his role as CEO.
