Expanding its entry-level lineup, Poco has introduced a new smartphone that focuses on battery life, display size, and everyday performance for budget users.
The Poco C81 Pro has been launched in select international markets with a starting price of $99 (around Rs. 9,300) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The 128GB and 256GB versions are priced at $109 (around Rs. 10,000) and $129 (around Rs. 12,000), respectively. The device is available in Black, Gold, and Green colour options.
Display and performance
The smartphone features a 6.9-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. It offers up to 650 nits typical brightness and 800 nits in high-brightness mode. The panel also comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly, and Flicker Free certifications. A water drop-style notch houses the front camera.
Powering the device is an octa-core Unisoc T7250 chipset built on a 12nm process, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. It comes with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The RAM can be expanded virtually up to 8GB, while storage is expandable via a MicroSD card.
Camera and features
For photography, the Poco C81 Pro includes a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, along with an additional unspecified lens. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The phone also supports Wet Touch Technology 2.0, allowing smooth touch response even with wet or oily fingers.
Connectivity and battery
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device supports both a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and facial recognition for security. It also includes sensors such as an accelerometer, electronic compass, and virtual ambient light and proximity sensors.
The Poco C81 Pro is backed by a 6,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. It is claimed to offer over 79 hours of music playback on a single charge. The device measures 171.56×79.47×8.15 mm and weighs 208g.
