The move strengthens the organisation’s enterprise focus in one of the fastest-growing technology markets globally. In this role, he will lead enterprise sales strategy in India, driving adoption of AI solutions, building strategic partnerships, and accelerating business growth across industries.
His appointment comes at a time when organisations are rapidly integrating AI into core operations, increasing demand for enterprise-grade AI solutions.
Bawankule brings over 30 years of experience across technology, media, and consumer sectors, with a strong track record in building high-growth businesses and leading large-scale commercial transformations.
Most recently, he served as Director at Amazon Web Services, where he led multiple industry verticals including telecom, media, gametech, automotive, retail, travel, logistics, and healthcare & life sciences. He played a key role in driving cloud adoption, enterprise transformation, and strategic customer engagement across India and South Asia.
Prior to this, Bawankule was Head of Ad Sales at The Walt Disney Company, where he led revenue growth across television and digital platforms, including Disney+ Hotstar, and drove major advertising partnerships across large-scale events such as IPL and global sporting tournaments.
Bawankule also held leadership roles at Google, including Country Director for Google Cloud, contributing to the growth of India’s digital ecosystem and enabling enterprises to adopt cloud technologies.
Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Dell, Motorola, Whirlpool India, and Satyam Computer Services, consistently driving market expansion and building high-performing teams.
Bawankule is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, where he completed his PGDM in Marketing and Finance.
