Kult, a personalisation and artificial intelligence led platform, has announced the appointment of Parag Gupta as its Chief Financial Officer. He is a Chartered Accountant and Business Transformation Leader with more than twenty years of experience in financial strategy, growth planning, and operational leadership across fast growing sectors.
Parag joins Kult at an important time as the company expands its business and finalises major inventory financing arrangements with banks and institutional lenders. His strong background in managing global operations and leading multi hundred million dollar businesses is expected to support Kult’s plans for rapid growth.
Before joining Kult, Parag held senior financial roles in several global companies. He worked as Group Chief Financial Officer for College Dekho and its group of companies. He managed financial operations and market entry plans for PayPal India. He served as India Chief Financial Officer for AT and T, where he supported strategic market expansion. He also worked as Group Chief Financial Officer for Nimbuzz BVI and built financial control systems across international markets. His career further includes handling large offshore teams and leading multi stage transitions in accounting and collections for international organisations such as Washington Mutual Bank and Dell International Services.
Parag brings significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, investor relations, and business transformation. These strengths align with Kult’s priorities as it scales its operations after securing twenty million dollars in Series A funding.
Karishma Singh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kult E Commerce, said, “Parag’s experience with MNCs and startups is a unique combination. MNC experience brings quality benchmarks, and startup experience brings the dynamism. Parag comes at a time when the company is closing large inventory financing with banks and institutional lenders. Thus having a CFO as a financial steward was the need of the hour.”
Parag Gupta said, “The beauty category has immense potential. Even though there are large players, the market is still at a very nascent stage. Kult’s approach through personalization and AI will have a niche carved out for itself, and I am sure it will emerge as a market leader eventually. The team is young, and their enthusiasm is commendable. I am very excited and looking forward to working as a team and taking Kult to new heights.”
