Daikin Applied Americas has promoted Yu Nishiwaki as its new President & Chief Executive Officer, marking an important leadership transition for the HVAC solutions provider. After serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Nishiwaki steps into the top leadership role with deep operational expertise and a strong understanding of Daikin’s global business. He will lead the company’s next phase of innovation, customer focus, and sustainable growth.
With more than 25 years of leadership experience within the Daikin Group, Nishiwaki has built an extensive career across strategic planning, operations, international business management, and executive leadership. His experience spans North America, Europe, and Asia, giving him a broad understanding of the HVAC industry and the changing needs of customers across global markets.
Before becoming President & CEO, Nishiwaki served as Chief Operating Officer at Daikin Applied Americas, where he played a key role in improving operational performance, strengthening business execution, and supporting the company’s strategic growth initiatives. Earlier, he was General Manager of Daikin Air Conditioning Italy’s Rome Office, leading business operations and market development across Italy.
Earlier in his career, Nishiwaki spent more than 7 years as Vice President of Strategic Planning at Daikin Applied Americas, helping shape the company’s long-term business strategy and corporate growth plans. He also served as Vice President at McQuay International, contributing to the company’s global expansion before its integration into the Daikin Group. He began his North American leadership journey with Daikin US Corporation, where he held management responsibilities that established the foundation for his international career.
As President & CEO, Nishiwaki will lead Daikin Applied Americas’ continued efforts to deliver innovative HVAC technologies, energy-efficient solutions, digital transformation, and customer-focused services. His appointment reflects the company’s commitment to developing experienced internal leaders to accelerate growth, strengthen operational excellence, and expand its leadership position in the commercial HVAC industry.
