Yahoo names Josh Line as Chief Marketing Officer

Yahoo, the American proprietary web portal, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Josh Line as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this role, he will oversee the company’s global marketing strategies, brand positioning, user acquisition, and customer engagement efforts. According to a statement from Yahoo, Line will report directly to CEO Jim Lanzone.

Line brings extensive experience to the position, having most recently served as Chief Brand Officer at Paramount Global. There, he directed comprehensive marketing initiatives and was instrumental in launching Paramount+ and expanding the direct-to-consumer streaming sector. 

He led a marketing transformation at Paramount, developing a multi-platform marketing strategy for brands such as CBS, MTV, Paramount Pictures, and Pluto TV. Additionally, Line chaired the marketing council, established centers of excellence in media, production operations, marketing technology, and social strategy, and played a pivotal role in the rebranding of ViacomCBS to Paramount Global.

Prior to his role as Chief Brand Officer at Paramount, Line oversaw marketing, creative, and digital studios at Comedy Central, Paramount Network, and TV Land. His dedication to creative excellence and innovation focused on customer needs was developed at renowned agencies such as Scratch, Droga5, and Anomaly, where he managed projects for clients including GM, BMW, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and Disney, among others.
