Mr Prasenjit Basu returns to Voltas with experience spanning consumer marketing, product, e-commerce, and brand building across the consumer durables sector. Voltas has appointed Prasenjit Basu as Head – Marketing & Corporate Communications, bringing an experienced consumer-marketing executive back to the company in a broader leadership mandate.
His new role brings together two areas central to the company’s brand strategy — marketing and corporate communications. He will be responsible for driving the company’s marketing agenda while also overseeing its corporate communications function.
The appointment marks a return to Voltas for Mr Basu. He had earlier served with Voltas Limited as Senior General Manager – Marketing before moving to Voltas Beko, the company’s joint venture with Arçelik. At Voltas Beko, he spent more than nine years working across marketing, product and e-commerce. His responsibilities over the years included areas such as brand development, consumer insights, product planning, market strategy and digital commerce.
His career also includes stints across consumer electronics, retail, media and communications. Before joining the Voltas ecosystem, he held roles at organisations including LG Electronics, Reliance Digital Retail, Videocon Consumer Durables and TEN Sports Network, among others. For Voltas, His familiarity with the business, combined with his experience across multiple consumer-facing functions, adds an executive with both category and organisational context to its marketing leadership.
