Fresh leaks around Vivo’s next-generation flagship smartphones have started appearing online shortly after the launch of the Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE in India. Reports suggest the company may skip the Vivo X400 branding and directly introduce the upcoming lineup as the X500 series.
According to reports, the Vivo X500 series has been spotted on the IMEI database, indicating that development of the new smartphones is already underway. The listing reportedly reveals at least 3 models in the lineup, including the X500, X500 Pro and X500e.
The database entry reportedly does not disclose detailed specifications, but it hints that Vivo could avoid using the X400 branding due to tetraphobia, a belief associated with the number 4 in some Asian cultures.
Leaks suggest that the X500 could feature a 6.37-inch display, while the X500 Pro may come with a larger 6.83-inch screen. Both smartphones are expected to include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensors for security and authentication.
The upcoming devices are also tipped to run on MediaTek Dimensity 9600 series processors and could pack 7,000mAh batteries with support for 100W fast charging.
Previous reports claimed the Vivo X500 series may feature 144Hz refresh rate displays along with a 50-megapixel primary camera using LOFIC technology. The lineup is also expected to include a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera for advanced zoom capabilities.
The Vivo X500 and X500 Pro are likely to arrive as upgrades to the current X300 and X300 Pro smartphones. Reports also suggest the possibility of a X500 Pro Max variant joining the series.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X500e could become a completely new addition to the lineup, as the company did not release a X300e model this year. The current X-series portfolio already includes the Vivo X300 FE and the flagship X300 Ultra.
