Just days ahead of its official debut, Vivo has revealed more details about the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6, highlighting major upgrades in battery capacity, durability and connectivity. The foldable smartphone is scheduled to launch in China on June 26 and is already available for pre-orders.
The Vivo X Fold 6 will feature a 7,000mAh Blue Ocean battery, an upgrade from the 6,000mAh unit found on its predecessor. The battery uses fifth-generation silicon anode technology and is claimed to deliver up to 9.8 hours of heavy-load usage, offering a 30% improvement in performance. Vivo also claims the battery can maintain stable performance even at temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.
Durability has also received a boost. The foldable smartphone will come with IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance. It will feature a lightweight hinge designed to provide stable opening and closing during repeated folding.
The device will include Vivo’s upgraded Universal Signal Amplification System 3.0, supported by a self-developed 1+4 communication chipset. The setup includes 1 signal amplification chip and 4 Wi-Fi enhancement chips, aimed at improving connectivity in areas such as high-speed trains, elevators and highways.
Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will be powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset. The handset will feature a quad rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor.
The foldable smartphone will be offered in 4 colour options, namely Black Gold, Blue Hole, Polar Night and Salt Lake. Customers pre-ordering the device in China will also receive early discounts and trade-in subsidies of up to CNY 1,500, which is roughly Rs. 20,000.
