In a move reflecting broader industry trends, smartphone prices in India are seeing an upward revision as brands respond to rising costs and market pressures.
Vivo has increased prices for several of its smartphones in India, with hikes ranging between Rs 1,000 and Rs 4,000. The revised pricing came into effect on April 21 and is now visible on the company’s official website.
Among the affected models, the Vivo T5x has seen a Rs 4,000 increase across all variants. The 6GB + 128GB version is now priced at Rs 22,999, up from Rs 18,999. The 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants now cost Rs 24,999 and Rs 26,999, respectively.
The Vivo V70 Elite has also become more expensive. The 8GB + 256GB variant is now priced at Rs 55,999, up from Rs 51,999, while the 12GB + 256GB model is now available at Rs 59,999, compared to Rs 56,999 earlier. Similarly, the Vivo V70 has received a Rs 4,000 hike, with prices now at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and Rs 53,999 for the 12GB + 256GB option.
In the Y series, the Vivo Y400 has also seen a price increase. The 8GB + 128GB model is now priced at Rs 28,999, up from Rs 25,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant now costs Rs 31,999, compared to Rs 27,999 earlier.
The Vivo Y51 Pro now starts at Rs 27,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model, up from Rs 24,999, while the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at Rs 30,999, compared to Rs 27,999 previously.
The Vivo Y31 5G has also seen smaller increases. The 4GB + 128GB variant is now priced at Rs 19,999, up from Rs 18,999. The 6GB + 128GB option now costs Rs 23,999, compared to Rs 20,999, while the 6GB + 256GB variant is listed at Rs 26,999.
While the company has not officially confirmed the reasons, such price revisions are often linked to rising component costs, currency fluctuations, and ongoing supply chain challenges. Reports also suggest that smartphone prices could continue to rise in the coming months, especially for devices powered by newer chipsets like Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which may cross Rs 50,000.
