Vivek Kannan has been elevated to Chief Executive Officer at Hinduja Housing Finance after serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer for more than 6 years. With over 2 decades of experience in financial services, he brings extensive expertise across housing finance, retail lending, consumer banking, credit operations, collections, business strategy, business reengineering and P&L management.
Before his elevation, Kannan led Hinduja Housing Finance as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing its housing finance operations with complete P&L responsibility. Prior to this, he served as Director and Chief Operating Officer of the housing finance business at Motilal Oswal Financial Services.
Earlier, Kannan held the position of Chief Operating Officer – Retail Business at DHFL. He also spent nearly 9 years at Citi, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Credit Operations Director – Consumer Bank, Head – Credit Initiation, Head – Business Strategy and Reengineering, Head – Recoveries and Legal – Consumer Bank, and Regional Collections Director – South and West.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Barclays, where he served as Head – Operations and Collections – Credit Cards, and Intelenet Global Services as DGM – International Collections, Solutions and Transition.
Additionally, Kannan held multiple positions at GE Capital, including Site Lead – Customer Services, Regional Collections Manager and Collections Manager.
Across these organisations, he has developed extensive experience in credit management, collections, customer service, financial operations and leading large teams.
As CEO of Hinduja Housing Finance, Kannan will bring a strong understanding of the company’s business, supported by his extensive experience in housing finance and consumer banking, as the organisation continues to expand its presence and serve customers across India.
