Deutsche Bank has appointed Vikas Arora as Chief Country Officer and Head of Corporate Bank for the Philippines, effective October 1, 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
In his expanded role, Arora will lead Deutsche Bank’s overall Philippine platform, including its Corporate Bank and Investment Bank businesses. He will also represent Deutsche Bank Group in the market and report jointly to Kaushik Shaparia, Chief Executive Officer for India and Emerging Asia, and Burkhard Ziegenhorn, Head of Corporate Bank for Southeast Asia and Australia.
Arora brings nearly 3 decades of banking experience across Asia and the Middle East, with expertise spanning client coverage, trade finance, cash management, corporate banking and transaction banking.
He joined Deutsche Bank as a management graduate in 1996 and has since held leadership roles across several markets within the bank’s international network. His previous positions include Chief Country Officer for Sri Lanka and Head of Global Transaction Banking in the Philippines, where he was based from 2015 to 2018.
Most recently, Arora served as Head of Corporate Bank in Malaysia. He has now relocated to Manila to take up his new responsibilities.
Commenting on the appointment, Shaparia said Deutsche Bank sees significant opportunities in the Philippines, where it has operated for more than 50 years. He highlighted Arora’s experience, familiarity with the Philippine market and understanding of client requirements.
Ziegenhorn said Arora’s experience across client coverage and transaction banking would support the bank as it builds on its position and pursues new growth opportunities in the market.
Deutsche Bank established its presence in Manila in 1975 and obtained a full commercial banking licence in 1995. Arora’s appointment comes as the bank looks to deepen its Philippine franchise by combining local market expertise with its global banking network and capabilities across corporate and investment banking.
