Varier brings more than 22 years of experience in corporate administration, facilities management, workplace strategy, procurement, operational governance and infrastructure management. Throughout his career, he has built efficient, compliant and scalable workplace operations across leading global organizations.
Before joining The Standard India, Varier served as Head of Administration at Mashreq, leading enterprise-wide administration across India, Pakistan and Egypt. He was responsible for strategic planning, operational governance, facilities management, global travel operations, workplace safety, statutory compliance, budgeting, procurement and vendor management. He also led process re-engineering, automation, digitalization and cost optimization initiatives while strengthening governance frameworks across multiple geographies.
Earlier, he worked as Facilities Manager at WestBridge Capital after spending 9 years at Swiss Re. At Swiss Re, he most recently served as Head, Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES), Bangalore, where he led workplace strategy, facilities operations, procurement, infrastructure projects, sustainability initiatives, communications, budget management and operational excellence. As Assistant Vice President, he also managed strategic procurement, workplace transformation, vendor governance, internal controls and enterprise-wide operational frameworks for the company’s India operations.
Varier has also held leadership roles at CBRE Asia Pacific and Infosys Ltd, overseeing large-scale facilities, workplace infrastructure, compliance, health and safety, audits, asset management, project execution and employee workplace services. His earlier experience includes positions at Global Franchise Architects, Orange County Resorts & Hotels Ltd, and Sealord Group of Hotels, providing him with a strong foundation across hospitality, corporate services and enterprise administration.
His appointment reflects The Standard India’s continued focus on strengthening workplace operations through experienced leadership while supporting organizational growth and enhancing employee experience.
