Commenting on his new role, Banerjee said the opportunity will allow him to drive meaningful business transformation by leveraging AI and advanced technologies to modernize platforms, improve customer experiences, and create value at scale.
Before joining The Hartford India, Banerjee spent nearly 6 years at Chubb, where he held several leadership positions focused on AI, innovation, and digital transformation. Most recently, he served as Head of Global New Frontiers (Vice President), leading a global innovation charter centered on AI-powered products, scalable platforms, analytics, and enterprise transformation programs.
Earlier, he led Chubb’s AI Products function, helping build scalable AI capabilities and accelerate enterprise-wide adoption of artificial intelligence solutions. As Assistant Vice President, he established the Claims AI and Unstructured Center of Excellence, driving analytics initiatives across claims, underwriting, and risk management while uncovering multimillion-dollar opportunities in fraud detection and recovery.
His experience at Chubb also included leading advanced analytics programs across the APAC and EMEA regions, where he developed AI-based fraud detection models, graph embedding algorithms, and risk intelligence platforms powered by large-scale unstructured data analysis.
Prior to Chubb, Banerjee held leadership roles at EXL, where he built insurance analytics practices in the UK and delivered AI-driven transformation initiatives for global insurers and logistics organizations. His professional journey also includes roles at Suzlon Group, Deloitte, and i3 Consulting, with a focus on business transformation, risk analytics, customer intelligence, operational excellence, and digital innovation.
Beyond the corporate sector, he has contributed to academia as a visiting faculty member at the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, while also mentoring students in AI and data science programs and participating in global innovation and AI governance initiatives.
Banerjee completed his Post Graduate Programme (PGP) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad between 2012 and 2014.
