
T-Mobile US has appointed Chris Sambar as its Chief Enterprise Officer, a newly expanded leadership role that reflects the company’s focus on accelerating enterprise growth, AI-driven innovation, and next-generation connectivity. The appointment was announced by Chief Executive Officer Srini Gopalan as part of T-Mobile’s strategy to strengthen its enterprise business and capture new growth opportunities.
In his new role, Chris will lead T-Mobile’s enterprise business strategy, driving growth across corporate customers while advancing AI-powered solutions, digital transformation, and next-generation connectivity.
Chris joins T-Mobile from Public Storage, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and led enterprise operations while supporting the company’s operational and strategic growth. During this time, he also served as a Board Member at AST SpaceMobile, contributing to its vision of delivering space-based cellular broadband connectivity.
Before joining Public Storage, Chris spent 22 years at AT&T, holding several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as President – Network, overseeing the architecture, engineering, construction, operations, tower strategy, and programme management of AT&T’s global network. He also managed an annual capital and operating budget of approximately US$27 billion.
Earlier, as Executive Vice President, he led the engineering, construction, and operation of AT&T’s global network, directing more than US$20 billion in annual capital investment to expand and modernise network infrastructure.
Chris also served as Senior Vice President of FirstNet, where he led the design, construction, and nationwide deployment of America’s dedicated public safety communications network, a programme valued at up to US$100 billion by the U.S. government.
His leadership experience at AT&T also includes serving as Vice President, Corporate Strategy, advising the CEO and executive leadership on corporate strategy, competitive positioning, capital allocation, and business transformation. He later held the roles of Vice President & General Manager – South Texas and Virginia & West Virginia, managing regional businesses with multi-billion-dollar revenue responsibility.
Earlier in his career, Chris led Learning Services within Human Resources and also held senior leadership positions in enterprise sales, sales operations, and network operations, building extensive expertise across the telecommunications sector.
Before entering the corporate world, Chris served for nearly 10 years as a Commander in the United States Navy SEALs, participating in elite special operations and military missions, including service during the Iraq War.
Chris holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
