T-Mobile launches Hyderabad GCC, plans 1,000 hires by 2027

Strengthening its commitment to India’s growing technology ecosystem, T-Mobile has launched a new Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad and plans to hire nearly 1,000 professionals by 2027.

The US-based telecom company inaugurated the facility on Thursday in Telangana’s capital city. According to a statement from the state government, T-Mobile has leased 250,000 square feet of office space for the new technology centre.

The Hyderabad GCC will focus on building advanced capabilities across software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, and cybersecurity. The centre is expected to play a key role in supporting the company’s global operations and innovation initiatives.

India’s GCC landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, moving beyond traditional outsourcing functions to become strategic hubs that drive innovation, technology development, and business transformation for multinational companies.

Speaking on the development, Chandra Gupta, Vice President of Information Technology at the tech centre, highlighted Hyderabad’s strengths in technology talent, innovation capabilities, and its well-established business ecosystem as key factors behind the company’s decision.

The expansion reflects the growing importance of India as a destination for global technology investments. Hyderabad, along with Bengaluru, continues to attract a significant share of new GCC establishments across the country.

According to a Nasscom-Zinnov report released in May, nearly two-thirds of new GCCs in India are choosing either Bengaluru or Hyderabad as their preferred locations, underlining the strong appeal of these cities for global enterprises.

The new centre is expected to contribute to employment growth while strengthening Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s leading technology and innovation hubs.
