Standard Chartered has appointed Kavita Kulkarni as Chief Technology and Operations Officer for India and South Asia, strengthening its leadership team with an executive known for driving technology-led transformation across global financial institutions.
Kulkarni brings decades of experience in technology leadership, operations, digital transformation, wealth management, and strategic business execution. Throughout her career, she has led large-scale modernization initiatives, enhanced operational performance, and built technology capabilities that support long-term business growth.
Before joining Standard Chartered, she served as Chief Information Officer – Private Bank and Wealth Management at Barclays Private Bank, where she led the global technology strategy and accelerated modernization and automation initiatives.
Her leadership journey also includes senior roles at Barclays, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, HSBC Private Bank, Eight Capital Management, and Shalmala Finance Limited, where she gained extensive experience across banking, wealth management, risk, technology, and operations.
With her broad expertise, Kulkarni is well positioned to lead Standard Chartered’s technology and operations strategy across India and South Asia as the bank continues to strengthen its digital capabilities and operational excellence.
