Rishai Neerachand has joined Santam Insurance as Chief Operating Officer – Client Solutions, bringing more than 24 years of experience across insurance, financial services, distribution, sales, operations and investment-related businesses.
Neerachand joins Santam after serving as Executive Head – Business Insurance at MiWay Insurance Limited, a role he held from January 2024 to September 2026. His experience spans commercial and business insurance, distribution, financial advisory and client-facing operations.
Before MiWay, Neerachand spent more than 6 years at OUTsurance, where he held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Head of OUTsurance Brokers – Inland Region, following more than 2.5 years as Head – Life & Investments Financial Advisors. Earlier, he was National Head of Sales – Distribution, leading distribution-focused sales for 3 years.
Earlier in his career, Neerachand served as Director at LINKfinity FA Group and held multiple leadership roles across the Absa ecosystem.
As Regional Manager – AIFA, he managed retail financial advisers. He previously served as Regional Manager – Branch Network at ABSA Insurance and Financial Advisers, managing branch network consultants involved in the sales of non-advice and fiduciary products and services.
He also worked as Regional Manager – Sales Support at Absa, where he focused on business development, growth and sales team management.
Neerachand spent more than 4 years as Operations Manager at Absa Investments Management Services (AIMS), overseeing the development, implementation and execution of operational functions and strategy.
His earlier experience includes roles with Alexander Forbes in employee benefits and Financial Management International (FMI), where he worked across financial processes and controls, including premium administration, collections and claims.
Neerachand studied Investment Management, Investments and Securities at the University of Cape Town and holds an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from Cranefield College.
His career combines experience across insurance, operations, sales, distribution, financial advice and investment services.
In his new role at Santam, Neerachand brings this cross-functional experience to a senior operating leadership position focused on the company’s Client Solutions business.
