Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President and Head of India and Southeast Asia at Meta, has moved on from the company after more than a decade. She announced the decision in a LinkedIn post and said she would reveal details about her next professional chapter soon.
“After more than a decade at Meta, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to move on to my next adventure. Saying goodbye to this incredible company and my amazing colleagues has been really difficult, but I leave with a heart full of gratitude and excitement about what lies ahead”.
Devanathan added that she plans to take a short break before moving into her next role. “After a short break, I’m looking forward to my next exciting chapter – will share more on that soon”.
A global business leader with more than 20 years of experience, Devanathan has worked across banking, payments and technology. She joined Meta in 2016 and helped build its Singapore and Vietnam businesses and teams, along with its e-commerce initiatives in Southeast Asia.
In 2020, she took charge of Gaming for APAC, one of Meta’s largest global business verticals. In 2022, she was appointed Vice President of Meta India, where she focused on aligning business and revenue priorities with the needs of partners and clients, while supporting the company’s long-term growth and commitment to India.
Reflecting on her time at Meta, Devanathan said, “I joined Meta when we had just about 300 employees in Singapore. The landscape looked so different in 2016 everyone was talking about digital transformation. And we were right in the midst of it helping startups, companies, creators and the ecosystem grow across the region while delivering great experiences for our hundreds of millions of our users.”
She added, “While the team has grown and our products have evolved, our unwavering commitment to delivering the best for our clients has remained constant.”
Devanathan also highlighted her experience across e-commerce and gaming in APAC and her leadership of teams across India and Southeast Asia. She said her journey was driven by the belief that the company’s work creates meaningful connections for people and businesses worldwide.
