Morocco and India are looking to expand their cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure and digital skills, with both countries now planning a joint mechanism focused on emerging technologies.
The discussions took place on August 24, 2026, in Rabat, where Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, met Jitin Prasada, India’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology.
The meeting explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in emerging digital technologies and public-sector digitalisation. Both sides agreed to establish a joint commission, initially focusing on language technologies and their role in improving communication between citizens and government administrations.
The proposed collaboration will explore technologies that can support multiple languages, language variants and dialects. The goal is to make public services more accessible to people across different linguistic communities.
The officials also discussed possible cooperation involving the JAZARI Institutes and their work in artificial intelligence.
The latest discussions build on an earlier meeting between Seghrouchni and Prasada in New Delhi in February 2026, held on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit.
The engagement reflects a shared effort by Morocco and India to turn their digital relationship into practical partnerships. Key areas include artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, language technologies and the development of digital skills and talent.
