A major software update is nearing public release for flagship devices from Samsung, as the One UI 8.5 beta testing phase reportedly enters its final stage.

The stable rollout of One UI 8.5 is expected to begin soon for the Galaxy S25 series, following months of beta testing. Reports suggest the update may start rolling out this week in select regions before expanding globally.

Expected rollout timeline

According to a report citing multiple leaks, the stable update could first arrive in South Korea by April 30. Global markets such as India and the US are expected to receive the update around May 4. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed these dates.

The rollout is expected to follow Samsung’s phased update strategy, gradually reaching more regions after the initial release.

Extended beta phase across devices

The One UI 8.5 beta programme for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra has been active for several months, making it one of Samsung’s longest-running beta cycles.

Typically, Samsung releases around 7 to 8 beta builds before moving to a stable version. In this cycle, some regions have already reached Beta 10, while others are on Beta 9.

Last month, the beta programme was also expanded to more devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in select markets such as the UK, India, Korea, and the US.

Additional devices like the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy Tab S11 are also part of the ongoing beta rollout in certain regions.

How users can install the update

Users enrolled in the beta programme can participate through the Samsung Members app. To install updates, they can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

It is recommended to back up all personal data before installing the update to avoid potential data loss during the process.
