Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly preparing to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in India next month alongside the rumoured Redmi 17 5G. The Redmi Turbo 5 will mark the debut of the Turbo series in the Indian market and is expected to arrive with features similar to its Chinese counterpart.

According to a report by a technology publication in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi 17 5G could launch in India on June 18. The company has already started teasing the Redmi Turbo 5 through dedicated microsites on Amazon and Xiaomi India’s official website, confirming the phone’s availability through both platforms. The handset has also been teased in a black colour option and is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup.

The Redmi Turbo 5 was introduced in China in January at a starting price of CNY 2,299, which is roughly Rs. 30,000 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The smartphone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

The device is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary rear camera along with an 8MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, it features a 20MP selfie camera.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 17 5G is tipped to feature a high-refresh-rate LCD display and could be powered by a Snapdragon 4 series chipset. The phone is also expected to include a battery larger than 7,000mAh, a 50MP primary rear camera, and an 8MP front camera. It may ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3.
