Realme 16T Geekbench scores hint at weaker chipset than predecessor

Ahead of its official debut, the upcoming Realme 16T has surfaced on Geekbench, revealing early details about its hardware and performance. The listing suggests that the device may deliver lower performance compared to its predecessor, the Realme 15T.

The smartphone appears under the model number RMX5268, which is widely believed to be the Realme 16T. It is listed with Android 16, a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, and around 7.45GB RAM, likely to be marketed as 8GB.

Benchmark scores show 784 points in single-core testing and 2,007 points in multi-core performance. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6835 chipset, featuring two high-performance cores clocked at 2.40GHz and six efficiency cores capped at 2.00GHz. This configuration is linked to the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor.

If confirmed, this would place the Realme 16T on a lower performance tier compared to the Realme 15T, which runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Max chipset. The Dimensity 6400 Max offers a higher prime core speed of 2.50GHz and is considered more powerful overall.

The Realme 16T is expected to sit below the Dimensity 6400 Turbo-powered Realme 16 in the company’s lineup.

Earlier leaks suggest that the smartphone may launch in India with multiple configurations, including 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants. Colour options are expected to include Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and Starlight Red.

For reference, the Realme 15T launched at a starting price of Rs. 20,999 in September last year. It features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display, a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, and a 50-megapixel front camera. The device also packs a 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging and 10W reverse charging, along with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
