A 14-year-old student from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has earned a place in ShakthiSAT, an international space education programme that brings together young participants from 108 countries. Mahima Rajput, a Class 10 student, was selected after registering for the programme with support from her school principal and guidance teacher.
The programme offers structured learning through 21 training modules and 365 lessons, introducing students to the fundamentals of science, satellites, and space missions in an easy-to-understand format.
As part of the training, participants are also learning the basics of satellite design and construction. The programme combines classroom learning with practical experience, helping students build a strong understanding of space technology.
Mahima and the other selected participants will travel to Delhi on August 23 to take part in hands-on satellite-building activities, giving them direct exposure to the process of designing and developing satellites.
The ShakthiSAT mission also includes plans to launch satellites into space in October. According to the programme, 1 satellite is expected to land on the Moon, while another will orbit around it.
The initiative aims to inspire school students by providing practical experience in space science and satellite development. It also encourages collaboration and teamwork among young learners from different countries, helping them explore space technology through a global learning platform.
