Paras Defence secures exclusive India rights for Guardian-1 counter-drone technology

Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd has signed an intellectual property (IP) licence agreement with Tandem Defense LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Autonomous Power Corporation (Powerus), to manufacture and commercialise the Guardian-1 Interceptor counter-drone system in India.

Under the agreement, Tandem Defense has granted Paras Defence an exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to use the Guardian-1 technology within India. The agreement also covers the management of IP licences, defence-related manufacturing and product sales operations in the country.

The Guardian-1 Interceptor is a high-speed, battery-powered counter-unmanned aerial system (counter-UAS) developed by Powerus. It is designed to detect, track and physically intercept hostile drones, including low-cost one-way attack drones and swarm-based aerial threats commonly used in modern warfare.

Paras Defence said the agreement will remain valid for 12 months and can be renewed through mutual consent. The company also clarified that it does not hold any equity stake in Tandem Defense LLC and that the agreement is not a related-party transaction. It further stated that the partnership does not involve the issuance of shares, special rights such as board representation, capital structure restrictions or any conflict-of-interest disclosures.

The announcement comes as Paras Defence continues its strong market performance in 2026. The company’s stock has gained around 101% year-to-date, rising from ₹684.45 on January 1 to ₹1,289.25. The stock is currently trading at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of approximately 117.95.

From a technical perspective, the stock is trading above its 5-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) but remains slightly below its 10-day SMA, following a correction from its mid-June high of ₹1,410.60.
