Oppo is preparing to expand its Reno smartphone lineup in China this month. While the official launch date is yet to be announced, pre-orders for the upcoming Reno 17 series have already begun. The lineup is expected to include the Oppo Reno 17 and Reno 17 Pro, with leaked details pointing to differences in their displays, processors and battery capacities.
Oppo Reno 17 series: Expected specifications
According to a Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, both smartphones will feature different display sizes. The standard Oppo Reno 17 is tipped to come with a 6.5-inch display, while the Reno 17 Pro could feature a slightly smaller 6.3-inch screen.
Both models are expected to include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. However, details about their primary and ultrawide camera sensors have not been revealed.
Battery capacity could be another major difference between the 2 devices. The standard Reno 17 is reportedly expected to pack an 8,000mAh-class battery, while the Pro variant could feature a 7,200mAh-class battery.
The 2 smartphones are also tipped to use different processors. The Reno 17 could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, while the Reno 17 Pro is expected to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 processor.
RAM, storage and colour options
Both smartphones may be available in 3 memory and storage configurations:
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
- 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
The leaked details also suggest that the Reno 17 series could arrive in 5 colour options: Snow White, Ice Moon White, Cocoa Brown, Starlight Pink and Encounter Cat (translated from Chinese).
Oppo Reno 17 series: Expected India launch
Oppo launched the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro in China in June. Both models feature a 6,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
While the company is yet to confirm the Reno 17 series launch date, more details are expected to emerge ahead of its China debut.
The lineup is also tipped to reach India. According to a tipster, the company could introduce the Reno 17 and Reno 17c models in the Indian market.
