Following the launch of the OnePlus 16 in China, reports suggest that the company is preparing another model for its latest smartphone lineup. Expected to be called the OnePlus 16R, the upcoming handset has surfaced in leaks detailing its possible specifications. OnePlus’ sister brand, Realme, is also reportedly testing a version with its own branding. While the flagship 16 is reportedly not planned for an Indian launch, the 16R could arrive in the country soon.
OnePlus 16R specifications and features
Tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) shared the rumoured specifications in a post on X. According to the leak, the 16R could use Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. The processor also powers the 15.
The smartphone is tipped to feature 3 rear cameras, each with a 50-megapixel sensor. These could include primary, ultrawide and telephoto cameras, potentially upgrading the dual-camera setup on its predecessor.
Other expected features include a flat display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz and a battery capacity of 7,500mAh or more. Neither OnePlus nor Realme has confirmed the reported specifications or the rebranded model.
OnePlus Ace 7 may launch as the 16R
