OnePlus may be preparing to expand the availability of its latest flagship beyond China, as a new leak suggests that global and Indian software versions of the OnePlus 16 are being tested. The company has not yet confirmed an international launch.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav claimed on X that the device is under testing with 3 model numbers: CPH2901, CPH2903 and CPH2905. The development comes amid uncertainty over OnePlus’s presence in international markets, particularly the US and Europe, where the brand has recently withdrawn.
The tipster also reported that the OnePlus 16R is in development as a gaming-focused smartphone under model number PYP110. Another handset, carrying model number CPH2887, is also reportedly in the works. Both devices are said to feature high-refresh-rate displays.
OnePlus 16 specifications and features
The OnePlus 16 was launched in China earlier this month as the successor to the OnePlus 15. It starts at CNY 5,999, approximately ₹86,000.
The phone runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 and features a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
For photography, the device has a triple rear camera system comprising a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. A 50-megapixel front camera handles selfies.
The handset packs a 9,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It also carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
While the reported software testing points to a possible international release, OnePlus has not officially confirmed plans to launch the OnePlus 16 outside China.
