Nvidia backs Cloverleaf as AI data center demand drives infrastructure growth

A new infrastructure push is taking shape around the growing demand for AI computing in the US. Nvidia has made a minority investment in privately held Cloverleaf Infrastructure to help develop infrastructure for AI data center projects across the country.

The investment will support Cloverleaf in developing data center sites, while Nvidia will contribute to infrastructure buildouts focused on AI computing.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. A report earlier on Friday said Nvidia was expected to invest several hundred million dollars in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, citing people familiar with the matter.

Cloverleaf works with utilities, energy providers and investors to secure power and other infrastructure needed for data center sites. Founded in 2024, the company said it has delivered multiple gigawatt-scale projects across North America.

As part of the collaboration, Cloverleaf will deploy Nvidia’s DSX platform to support decisions around site selection, power, cooling and computing infrastructure.

The investment comes days after Nvidia announced plans to invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, a data center developer owned by SoftBank.
