Nothing plans AI smart glasses launch by 2027 with focus on connected ecosystem

In a shift toward next-generation devices, Nothing is preparing to enter the AI wearables space with smart glasses expected to launch in 2027.

The company’s CEO Carl Pei, who was earlier uncertain about this direction, now sees it as a natural step aligned with evolving technology trends.

The upcoming smart glasses will include microphones, speakers, and cameras. However, they will not feature a display in front of the user’s eyes, setting them apart from some existing AR devices.

Instead of placing all computing power inside the glasses, Nothing plans to rely on smartphones and cloud computing for processing. This approach is expected to ensure smoother performance while keeping the glasses lightweight and integrated with its existing product ecosystem.

The glasses are designed to work seamlessly with other Nothing devices and align with Android’s XR ecosystem. This integration is aimed at creating a connected user experience across devices.

Before the launch of the smart glasses, the company is also planning to introduce new smartphones and earbuds in the first half of 2027.

Nothing is expected to carry forward its signature design approach with these glasses. The company aims to differentiate its product in a competitive market that includes major players like Google and Samsung.

With this move, Nothing is positioning itself in the growing AI wearables segment while focusing on design, ecosystem integration, and cloud-powered performance.
