With more than 20 years of experience across corporate banking, commercial banking, relationship management, investment advisory, and sector-focused banking leadership, Gupta brings extensive expertise in managing multinational client relationships and driving commercial growth strategies.
Gupta has spent nearly 18 years at Citi India, progressing through multiple leadership roles across corporate and commercial banking divisions. Over the years, he has led strategic relationships with multinational corporations and major industry sectors.
Before taking on his latest role, he served in key positions including Head – Mobility Sector, Head – Mobility Sector & West Industrials, Global Subsidiaries Group, and several other commercial banking leadership assignments. His work has focused strongly on the automotive and mobility ecosystem, multinational subsidiaries, industrial clients, and business growth initiatives across India.
Earlier in his Citi career, Gupta worked as Relationship Manager – Global Subsidiaries Group, Commercial Banking Head – Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh, Commercial Banking Counselor, and Senior Citigold Relationship Manager. In these roles, he managed commercial banking portfolios, investment advisory services, client engagement, and regional business development strategies.
Before joining Citi India, he worked at ICICI Bank as Sales Manager – Investment & Services, where he handled investment products and revenue growth initiatives.
Earlier, he was associated with IDBI Bank as Senior Relationship Officer, managing CASA mobilisation, corporate accounts, and third-party financial product relationships.
He began his professional journey with Eli Lilly and Company as Territory Manager, focusing on patient awareness campaigns, event management, and brand engagement initiatives.
Over the course of his career, Gupta has developed strong expertise in multinational client management, corporate banking, commercial banking, mobility sector banking, relationship management, and strategic business expansion.
