In a major funding milestone, Mintlify has raised $45 Mn in a Series B round at a $500 Mn valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Salesforce Ventures.
The round also saw participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Y Combinator, DST Global, MVP Ventures, Avra, HubSpot Ventures, and TwentyTwo Ventures.
Founded in 2022, Mintlify has grown into a widely used documentation platform, now supporting over 20,000 companies and reaching more than 100 million users annually.
The company is focused on building a knowledge layer that makes products understandable, usable, and discoverable by AI agents. This reflects a broader shift where documentation is no longer just written for humans but increasingly consumed by AI systems.
Mintlify highlighted that nearly 50% of documentation traffic now comes from AI agents and AI-assisted workflows. As a result, documentation is evolving into a critical interface between products and AI, requiring accuracy, structure, and continuous updates.
The company is expanding beyond external developer documentation into internal knowledge systems, including engineering handbooks, design systems, and operational playbooks. This helps organisations ensure that AI-powered tools and agents operate on reliable and up-to-date information.
To support this shift, Mintlify is building features such as automated documentation workflows, integrations with codebases and project tools, and AI-driven content generation and updates. These capabilities aim to create a unified and structured knowledge layer across organisations.
The company’s core focus is to ensure that if an AI agent needs to understand a product or organisation, the information is accurate, connected, and readily accessible.
The funding will accelerate Mintlify’s efforts to build this infrastructure as AI-native workflows become central to how companies operate and scale.
