Lisa Finnegan returns to Microsoft to lead EMEA HR business partnering

Lisa Finnegan has returned to Microsoft as Vice President, HRBP for EMEA, taking on a senior people leadership role focused on shaping the company’s people and organisation agenda across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Based in Dublin, Finnegan brings more than 2 decades of experience across HR leadership, business partnering, talent strategy and organisational transformation.

She rejoins Microsoft after serving as Managing Director of Lumera HR Consulting, which she founded in 2025 to provide fractional HR leadership and talent lifecycle services to high-growth and established organisations. In this role, she worked with management teams and business leaders on strengthening HR strategies.

Before launching Lumera HR Consulting, Finnegan spent nearly 9 years at LinkedIn, progressing through several senior HR positions. Most recently, she served for 4 years as Vice President – International HRBP. Her earlier roles included Senior Director HR – EMEA & LATAM, Senior Director HR – EMEA and HR Director.

At LinkedIn, Finnegan partnered with senior business leaders on talent strategies aligned with business priorities and supported employees and organisations through periods of growth and transformation.

Earlier, she was HR Director – EMEA at Veritas Technologies, where she managed a team of HR managers across the region and worked with senior leadership across renewals and inside sales. Her responsibilities included talent attraction, retention and development, along with delivering HR programmes across the organisation.

A significant part of Finnegan’s earlier career was spent at Symantec, where she worked for around 10 years across HR and business-focused roles. She progressed from Staffing Specialist and Senior HR Consultant to HR Business Partner and Senior Manager – HR Business Partner, supporting senior leaders across EMEA, the Americas and APJ.

Her tenure at Symantec also included a role as Manager – Partner Programmes, where she managed the OEM Partner Programme across EMEA and APJ while working with a matrixed team across multiple regions.

Finnegan began her career with Lionbridge as a Resource Coordinator before moving into recruitment with Contract People Ltd.

Across her career, she has developed expertise in HR business partnering, talent strategy, employee relations, recruitment, leadership coaching and business transformation across international markets.

In her new role, Finnegan will contribute to Microsoft’s EMEA people agenda as the organisation continues to navigate changes in technology, skills and ways of working.
