Strengthening its infrastructure for future technologies, Meta has announced a major investment in a new data center project in the United States.
Meta is set to begin construction of a new data center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with an investment of more than $1 billion. The project aims to expand the company’s AI and computing capabilities. It is expected to create over 1,000 construction jobs and around 100 operational roles once the facility becomes fully functional.
This will be Meta’s first data center in Oklahoma and its 28th across the US. The facility will span more than 2 million square feet and will be located at Fair Oaks Innovation Park. Meta will also manage all water and wastewater requirements for the site.
Kevin Stitt highlighted the state’s strong energy position, noting that Oklahoma produces more energy than it consumes. He added that companies like Meta rely on reliable and affordable power to expand and innovate, underlining the state’s support for large-scale technology investments.
