Manus currently serves as Interim Group Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered, a role he assumed in May 2026 after serving as Global Head of Investor Relations since April 2024. During his time leading investor relations, he played a key role in managing market communications, shareholder engagement, strategic financial messaging, and strengthening investor confidence across the bank’s global operations.
His appointment reflects Standard Chartered’s continued focus on financial governance, strategic resilience, and long-term sustainable growth across its presence in 54 international markets.
Before joining Standard Chartered, Manus spent more than 14 years at AllianceBernstein, where he served as Global Head of Research, Autonomous. In this position, he led globally recognised research and strategic analysis functions focused on market intelligence, institutional analysis, investor insights, and financial services strategy.
Earlier in his career, Manus built extensive investment banking and research experience at Merrill Lynch, serving as Senior Director, Equity Research across London and New York. His work strengthened his expertise in financial markets, investor analysis, capital strategy, and corporate performance evaluation.
With more than 20 years of experience across financial services, investor relations, capital markets, and strategic research leadership, Manus brings strong financial stewardship and global banking expertise to his new role as Group CFO.
