Infosys secures large GCC mandate for 4,500-employee centre

Strengthening its position in enterprise transformation, Infosys has secured one of its largest Global Capability Centre (GCC) deals in India.

Under the agreement, Infosys will establish a technology centre with a workforce of at least 4,500 employees. The engagement will follow a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, where the company will manage operations for 5 years before transferring the facility to the client.

The deal stands among the largest IT-led GCC BOT engagements, reflecting rising demand from global enterprises to build dedicated capability centres in India.

GCCs are increasingly emerging as strategic hubs for innovation, digital transformation, and AI-led operations. Companies are leveraging these centres to improve efficiency, scale operations, and create long-term value.

This move also signals a shift in the IT services landscape. Organisations are moving beyond traditional outsourcing towards deeper partnerships that involve building and managing global capability centres.

With this development, Infosys further strengthens its footprint in the GCC ecosystem, which continues to gain momentum as global firms expand their technology and innovation presence in India.
