IIT Madras and IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation partnered with Ziroh Labs to establish a Centre of AI Research (COAIR), which will focus on developing practical, efficient AI solutions
IIT Madras, in collaboration with the IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation and Ziroh Labs, a California-based deep-tech startup focused on innovation, has launched a Centre of AI Research (COAIR). This center will concentrate on creating practical and efficient AI solutions, particularly for CPU and edge device inferencing.
At the same time, Ziroh Labs introduced the initial version of ‘Kompact AI’ at IIT Madras. This AI platform allows for the development and deployment of foundational models using CPUs, eliminating the need for costly and hard-to-source GPUs (Graphics Processing Units).
During the event, the Ziroh Labs startup highlighted the distinctive features of Kompact AI, showcasing how it transforms AI development by removing the reliance on GPUs.
