In a major step towards tackling cybercrime, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police carried out multiple out-of-state operations that resulted in the arrest of 36 cyber fraud suspects and the recovery of ₹48.98 lakh, which has been refunded to victims.

The action followed several complaints received through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), leading to the registration of 52 FIRs during June 2026.

As part of the special operations, the Cyber Crime Police solved 14 separate cybercrime cases by conducting coordinated raids across 5 states in India.

According to the police, 22 of the arrested individuals were involved in investment fraud, 5 in social media-related offences, 3 in job fraud, and 6 in matrimonial fraud.

The geographical distribution of the arrests shows that 26 accused were apprehended from Telangana, 4 from Maharashtra, and 2 each from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi.

During the operations, police also seized several items allegedly used in carrying out cyber fraud. These included 8 mobile phones, 6 debit cards, 3 SIM cards, 2 cheque books, and 1 bank passbook.

The police said the operations demonstrated successful financial recovery across different categories of cyber fraud while highlighting the varying scale of financial losses associated with each type of offence.

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police continue to strengthen efforts against online fraud through coordinated investigations, interstate operations, and prompt recovery of victims’ funds.
