In a move to enhance connectivity beyond traditional networks, Huawei is extending its “offline call” feature, first introduced with the Mate 80 series, to a wider range of smartphones.
The feature, also known as MeeTime wireless communication, allows users to make calls and send messages without relying on standard network connectivity. It is designed to work even in Airplane mode, enabling communication without interference during flights.
Introduced with the Mate 80 lineup, the feature lets users connect with nearby devices, send messages, and make calls over short distances. It supports communication within a range of up to 7 km, based on extreme testing conditions. Users can receive and reply to messages from nearby contacts who are also using the feature.
Huawei has been gradually rolling out this capability across its ecosystem. Devices such as the Pura 80 series and select high-end Nova 14 variants received support in December 2025. The feature is now also being extended to the Mate 70 Air handset.
The current list of supported devices includes:
- Huawei Mate 80
- Huawei Mate 80 Pro
- Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max
- Huawei Mate 80 RS | Ultimate Design
- Huawei Mate X7 Series
- Huawei Nova 15 Series
- Huawei Mate 70 Air
- Huawei Mate XTs
- Huawei Pura 80 Series
- Huawei Nova 14 Ultra
- Huawei Nova 14 Pro
With this expansion, Huawei continues to push alternative communication technologies, especially for scenarios where traditional networks are unavailable.
