Aiming to simplify teamwork and streamline daily tasks, Google has introduced a set of new Workspace features announced at Cloud Next 2026.
Google is rolling out updates across its Workspace platform to make group projects and meetings more efficient. The new features include an upgraded “Take Notes for me” tool in Google Meet, a new “Projects” feature in Drive, and automation tools called “skills” in Workspace Studio.
Smarter meeting notes across platforms
The enhanced “Take Notes for me” feature in Google Meet can now support in-person meetings and works across platforms like Teams and Zoom. It automatically generates transcripts, summaries, and action points. The company said over 110 million attendees used this feature in the last month.
Google Drive’s new “Projects” feature allows users to organise files and emails in one place, making collaboration easier. In addition, Google Sheets now includes a Canvas tool that helps users create interactive dashboards.
Automation tools to save time
Workspace Studio introduces new “skills” that can automate routine tasks such as reviewing invoices. These tools are designed to reduce manual work and help users focus on more important tasks.
