As concerns grow over AI-driven job cuts across the technology sector, Glean Founder and CEO Arvind Jain has offered a different perspective, stating that artificial intelligence should enhance human capabilities rather than replace employees.
Speaking at a workplace innovation summit, Jain said AI is helping people perform higher-quality work by improving productivity and efficiency. According to him, despite working closely with some of the world’s largest enterprises, Glean has not witnessed roles being eliminated because of AI so far.
“I don’t think AI—or actually, for me, hopefully forever, too—AI never replaces any human, and it just actually augments us, enables us, allows us to do higher quality work,” Jain said.
He added, “There are many who will talk about [whether] you can replace this role with AI, or that role with AI. But practically we work with the largest enterprises in the world, and we’re not seeing any role getting eliminated—not today.”
Jain’s comments contrast with views expressed by several business leaders who have warned about the impact of AI on employment. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has suggested that AI could eliminate up to 50% of white-collar jobs in the coming years. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has also acknowledged that AI-driven efficiencies may lead to workforce reductions, while Ford CEO Jim Farley has warned that AI could replace “literally half” of white-collar workers in the United States.
An IIT Delhi graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Jain later earned a master’s degree from the University of Washington. He began his career at Microsoft in 1997 before spending more than a decade at Google, where he worked on products including Google Search, Maps, and YouTube.
In 2014, he co-founded Rubrik, a cloud data management and cybersecurity company. He later launched Glean in 2019 to help employees find information across workplace applications and documents more efficiently.
Under Jain’s leadership, Glean has grown rapidly, with its valuation rising from approximately $1 billion in 2022 to a reported $7.2 billion in 2025.
