Ford Motor Company has appointed William (Bill) Huffaker as Chief Talent Officer, where he will lead the company’s global talent organization across Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Talent Development and Inclusion.
Huffaker brings extensive experience in enterprise talent strategy, leadership development, succession planning, culture transformation, workforce planning and organizational capability across major global organizations.
Before joining Ford, Huffaker served as Senior Vice President, Global Integrated Talent at Newell Brands. He partnered with the CHRO and executive leadership on enterprise talent strategy for more than 25,000 employees across over 60 brands. His work included integrating AI across the talent lifecycle, advancing Future of Work initiatives and strengthening performance, innovation and inclusion.
He also serves as a Professional Adjunct Lecturer at National Louis University, where he teaches graduate-level courses in Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition & Retention, Performance Management, and Diversity & Inclusion.
Earlier, Huffaker was Vice President of Talent Management at Workday, where he led changes in talent management practices, performance processes and inclusion initiatives.
Before that, he served as Senior Vice President, Global Integrated Talent at Oracle, leading talent strategies during a period of significant organizational and technology transformation.
He previously held the role of Vice President, Talent, Inclusion and HR Strategy at SC Johnson, where he modernized talent practices, strengthened succession planning and centralized learning and development.
Huffaker also spent nearly 5 years with General Motors as Global Director, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management. He led global talent initiatives during a major business transformation and supported the company’s shift toward electric and autonomous mobility.
His earlier career includes senior people and talent leadership roles at Google, Microsoft and Visa, covering people development, HR business partnering, organizational capability and global talent management.
In his new role at Ford, Huffaker brings experience across technology, automotive, consumer products and financial services. His focus will include building integrated talent strategies, developing leadership pipelines and supporting large-scale organizational transformation.
